For my dad...

Who was without feeling or love, horribly and without redemption, dishonored by other family members and a few friends he thought he could trust, in the hours before his death and all the way to his grave and beyond.... I don't know how people like that can look at their own face in the mirror every morning. Just sayin'.

I know your life on earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the Devil
You were no stranger to the rain

Go rest high on that mountain
Son your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son

Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels' faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing

So go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son

So go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son

Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son

Dad - I did all I could... and my life will never be the same for failing to make sure what you wanted for your last wishes were done. God knows I tried... and you and I both know. And that is the best I could do and will have to be enough for my soul. Amen.

And PS - no, for the person who was asking.... I didn't go on the cruise... the money was wasted and I'm ok with that. Bein' there to respect my dad was worth SO much more...

Mia,

I'm so sorry about the loss of your father. I'm sure he knows that you did all you could for him. And, he knows that you loved him unconditionally.

I hope you're doing okay.
