Old fashioned water torture...

Do you remember that from those old war movies? drip, drip, drip of water on the forehead till the person "broke". That's what this job is like. The Same. Exact. Thing. Every. Single. Day. Honest to God.. it's data input, the same exact words for the same exact patients day after day after stupid day.

And that's all I'm gonna say about that except that thank for for xanax or I'd be a crazy person running around the lobby waving my letter opener in a threatening way....

Ok, and so guess what! My TV came yesterday!! I know.. it was supposed to be next week and I had already asked for the day off - but by chance I looked up the tracking number yesterday only to find it was in my town! Called the UPS guy and they said it was out for delivery. Great. My car was 22 miles away. After a few frantic emergency calls, I did find someone willing to take me home and praise be, we got there 20 minutes before the UPS guy. Whew. But it doesn't work right I think I need some new cable or something. I have no idea. I'm quite depressed about it. All that gloriousness sitting there and it looks worse than my old tV. But all is not lost.. I intend to sit down with it tonight and the big complicated icky book of directions and see if I can figure it out. Wish me luck - big time. I HATe electronical/electrical stuff of ANY kind and avoid it like the plague. Just thought ya should know.

But until then... drip... drip... drip...

One hour later Update: I don't need to look at the icky manual!!! Yaa -hoo! I just talked to my genious electronics friend at work, during the chat I realized i use a Tivo that isn't a high def model. Long story short, I called the cable company and they are coming out in a few days to switch over everything to digital and make it all work and they promised to school me on how to use the remote before they leave. Hi def viewing on hundreds of channels will soon be MINE!!!!! I'll make a big bowl of popcorn, come on over!!!

Yah - I have a similar issue with my teeny tiny TV, in order to use my dvd player I have to have another little box and more cables but it's no big deal in the end. Nice that your cable company was so helpful!

But one question - how will you get off the couch? 'Cause seriously, if it were me I think I'd hunker down with the remote under blankets with a cat on either side and not come out til Spring!

Mmmm, I love popcorn and TV!

By the way, I LOVE this: "There's a whole lot of wonderful people out there and they don't all live on my country road."

That's totally how I feel and why I love blogging. (Except, for me, it's not so much a country road as the 405 freeway.)
