Hey ya'll

What's happenin' out there? I enjoyed that week off SO much, but now I'm firmly back to reality. Been working my butt off, however, I have found a slight solution to combat all the distractions and stress of this office and it's name is Hulu.com. I can't really watch the shows, but I sure can listen to the comedy sitcoms just fine on my earphones while I punch in my never ending stream of data and it helps a LOT... but it's still been a VERY long Wednesday afternoon. I'm on a self declared Diet Pepsi break at the moment ::laughing::

The kitties are doing good - little baby Sophie has grown about 5 times what she was when I found her on my doorstep. I'll take some pics this weekend.. but talk about funny! Oh my gosh, I never knew... and it seems they need each other. If one or the other is separated, they meow till I put them back together. I am very fortunate!

So the boy in Chile is about to be a daddy any day. I sent him a package in October for his birthday and now trying to figure out what to do for Christmas/baby gifts, they don't have much, but would be happy with just about anything. I would just send cash but with the dollar doing so bad - the exchange rate is just horrible - if I sent him $300 he'd only end up with about 200 and I just can't afford to throw away cash like that. Totally sucky. So I sent a package but it cost me $40 bucks to mail a 4 pound package. But now, I kind of wanted to send a little bigger package - for the baby ya know - so much on sale for so little... so I was shopping around to try to find some international shipping company. I checked into FedEx and pretty much had a heart attack. I gave them an estimate that I wanted to mail a 10 lb box, maybe 12x12x15 or so.
And the price for that would be....

$350!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfreaking real. So if any of you all have any decently priced international shipping options, I sure would love to hear about it!!! And now.. back to my exhilarating data entry. Buh-bye.

Good God! That is crazy!!! I can't believe it costs that much to ship, but I suppose the fuel costs are more these days. Still...

Hulu is a lifesaver, isn't it? It's gotten me through many teacher conference nights when I don't have any parents in to visit!

Wow! I'd have passed out when they said $350. That's insane! Sorry though, don't know what to tell you about anything cheaper.

Glad the kitties are getting along too. Knew they would when given some time. Isn't HULU the best? When I can't find anything on TV, that's where I go. I also watch TV shows on YoutTube ... like Step By Step and Family Matters. Love it!

We can't watch or listen to anything at work with the Surf Control they put on our systems. I've downloaded all my CD's so at least I have music. xxoo

Holy crap! That's just insanely ridiculous! Wish I had a suggestion but I'm clueless about international shipping.

Happy the felines are such a great match - I've decided to wait til after the first of the year to start combining my two. I'll let you know how it goes!

I am a big fan of the one price box. Even international rates make it a better deal and you can get a lot in the large box. My other idea is to do direct delivery from web sites-a lot of retail sites will offer free delivery after Christmas. I have a feeling that this box will be the first of many you want to send! What a good grandma. Maybe you should send yourself with a suitcase packed full of gifts.
